The manifestations of coexistence evidence harmony or orderliness. Entire existence is a universal harmony. Truth is manifested as harmony. Coexistence is orderly or harmonious that can be classified into four natural orders i.e. material order, pranic order, animal order and knowledge order. A natural order can be classified further into species and sub-species.
“Each unit of nature is a harmony in itself and participates in universal harmony.”
Manifestations of coexistence are in the form of units. A unit’s being “a harmony in itself” means definiteness in its conduct. Definite conduct of a unit means definiteness in its following four dimensions: -
· configuration or form
· function or qualities
· role in universal harmony or intrinsic nature
· purpose in universal harmony or religion.
All parts of a unit exhibit a combined conduct.
Atom is the primary unit or first stage of harmony. Atoms are definite configurations of atomic particles. Each definite configuration of atomic particles exhibit combined conduct of an atom unit of certain atomic type. Atoms unite to form molecules and exhibit combined conduct of molecule unit of a certain molecule type. Molecules unite to form numerous small and big configurations. Earth is also a unit. A pranic cell is a unit. A tree is a unit. A lion is a unit. A human being is a unit. A family is a unit. A village is a unit. A nation is a unit.
Each unit is a definite configuration of matter.
Configuration is also known as form. All manifestations of Truth are formful. Material order is in the “form” of soil, stones, gems and metals. Pranic order is in the “form” of all vegetations and bodies of animals and humans. Animal order is in the “form” of all living creatures big and small that roam on land, water and sky. Knowledge order is in the “form” of human beings.
v Form (roop) is shape, area and volume. Form is being limited from all sides.
All manifestations of Truth express their qualities or attributes. Qualities are observed in togetherness of units. For example, some soils are good for certain crops, while not so good for other crops. Some air smells foul while some air smells fragrant. Some herbs could heal wounds while some are poisonous. Some insects aid in pollination of crops while some cause destruction. Some animals are aggressive while some are docile. Human being also exhibits their qualities in course of their habits of food, lifestyle and behavior.
v Qualities (guna) are as constructive (sam), destructive (visham) and sustenance (madhyasth) functions. Sustenance is the reference for assessing constructive and destructive functions.
Each natural order has a definite role in the universal harmony of existence. This role is there as their intrinsic nature, which demarcates the range (maryada) of their function. The definite range of material order’s function is integration-disintegration. The definite range of pranic order’s function is nourishing-harming. The definite range of animal order’s function is cruel-timid. The definite range of knowledge order’s function (upon awakening) is fortitude, courage and generosity. This means - all activities of human being (upon awakening) would be in this range, and no activity would be outside of this range. It is important here to observe that intrinsic nature of any manifestation of existence is describable from the reference of universal harmony. Universal harmony of Existence is not perceptible or it cannot be grasped through senses but it is cognizable and comprehensible.
v Intrinsic-nature (sva-bhav) is usefulness of qualities as contribution in universal harmony. It is the range of function.
Harmony is Purpose in action. Each manifestation of coexistence has a definite purpose, which is its innateness – that which it cannot be separated from or that which defines its being. It is also known as Religion. Existence (or to exist) is the base religion (mool dharma) of all matter. It is not possible for any reality to move out of existence. At the basic level things are made of material order. Objects of pranic order, animal order and knowledge order are also projections of material order. One can divide an object of material order (for example a stone) into two, and those two divisions can be further divided into four, and this process could go on ad infinitum, reaching till atoms or even atomic particles. All parts would still remain in existence.
Existence (or to exist) is the Religion of material order.
Growth (pushti) is the religion of Pranic order. All activities of pranic order are based on their innateness of growth.
Hope to live (jeene ki asha) is the religion of Animal order. All activities of animal order units are on the basis of their hope to live or wanting to live on.
Happiness (sukh) is the religion of human being. Human being cannot be alienated from their want to live with happiness. Happiness (its expectation or its acceptance) is the basic intent and basis of all human desires, thoughts and actions. Happiness is the only motivation for seeking knowledge in human being. Human being needs knowledge for happiness or fulfillment.
v Religion (dharma) is the purpose, that one cannot be separated from.
Form, Qualities, Intrinsic nature and Religion are four inseparable aspects of a reality (manifestation of existence). These four aspects together describe completeness of a Reality. There is nothing “more” to a reality apart from these four aspects. Form and Qualities are the perceptible (indriya-gochar) aspects, while Intrinsic-nature and Religion are cognizable (gyan-gochar) aspects of Reality.
Each natural order has a way of conformance (anushangiyata) to ensure continuity of its conduct from generation to generation. Material order has configuration conformance. The configuration of atomic particles ensures conformance to conduct of that atomic type. Pranic order’s way of continuity is seed conformance. Seed carries the blueprint of its plant type. Animal order has specie conformance, where in jeevan (conscious unit) functions according to the bodily design with ‘hope to live’. Knowledge order has sanskar conformance, wherein jeevan functions according to the acceptances acquired by way of education and upbringing.
